A Women's Interest & Wellness Facility

The Chuuk Women’s Council is housed in the Shinobu M. Poll Memorial Center, funded by the Government of Japan. The first floor of the facility, built in 2011, supports our current and future projects as it contains a conference room, private offices, an HIV/AIDS testing and counseling room, a clinic, a multi-purpose room for the creation of traditional handcrafts, sewing, and art, and a kitchen for cooking demonstrations.

We recently completed the construction of the second floor of the facility, our Youth and Family Learning Resource Center, which supports our programs in education. The second floor includes a library, a media room for recording and viewing music and videos, a kids’ zone for younger children, a computer lab, and a volunteer residence for short- and long-term volunteers. We are very excited to continue to strengthen our programs and welcome even more families to the Center.

Dedication and Opening of the 2nd Floor Youth and Family Learning Resource Center

CWC Computer RoomThe Chuuk Women’s Council is very excited to celebrate the Dedication of the 2nd Floor of the SM Poll Memorial Wellness Center on December 6th, 2014. The Youth and Family Learning Resource Center includes a Library, Kids’ Zone, Computer Lab, Media Room, Office Space, and Volunteer Residence.

The 2nd Floor will have a soft opening in January. Our goal is to provide a safe and productive environment with learning materials to encourage the intellectual growth of children, youth and families in Chuuk.

We would like to acknowledge with deep gratitude the grant from the Japan Government that has made this project possible. KinisouChapur!
